About SST
We would like to take a moment to introduce you all to the first ever thyroid oriented clinic. This wing operates under the name Smart Thyroid Subspecialty. In this multifunctional center that is now located in Smart Health Tower, we have been seeing patients for over the last decade. We have built and sustained an admirable reputation for delivering the most up to date thyroid care. Being a surgical oriented group, we have also made a name for ourselves in head and neck surgeries all across Iraq and Kurdistan. We have a vast team of experts in all the needed fields of medicine to completely diagnose and treat every patient who comes to our tertiary center.
The trust and care we show is always attracting patients and they come from local areas and even countries abroad. All of our patients go through multiple channels to pinpoint exactly the problem they have and we do not see anyone outside of our specialties which is an uncommon practice here. This comprehensive evaluation at a highly specialized center includes a focused physical exam, blood investigations at an ISO certified lab, and a full array of diagnostic imaging from a basic ultrasound to advanced MRI and CT scans. What’s even better is that these can all be scheduled for the same day.
Once a diagnosis and conclusive management has been planned, the pre-surgery, operation and post-op after care are all taken care of in our facility by dedicated nurses. We have a pathology lab where the samples are sent and results are back to us promptly. For those cases who are hard to decide upon, we also carry out a weekly MDT where we see close to 12 cases per week. The final decision is made after an intensive process amongst twenty or more doctors. This is also only exclusive to our center. We have our wonderful staff and amazing doctors to thank for this, in cooperation with a great management department. Our staff consists of one CEO, one supervisor, ten surgical seniors, nine senior house officers, five pre-registration house officers, two plain doctors, one general physician, one family doctor, nine nurses, one designer, one IT, one programmer, and three secretaries. Thanks to God, we have set up a great design for ourselves which works wonderfully. We share this for future hope that we engage with other teams to expand these good deeds we do as surgeons and doctors.
