Case Presentation:
A 21-year-old male presented with a painless anterior neck swelling of approximately two years' duration. The mass had slightly increased in size over this period but was not associated with any pressure symptoms. The patient's past medical history (PMH) and past surgical history (PSH) were both negative.
Clinical Examination:
On examination, a 4 cm round, firm mass was palpated in the anterior neck, just above the suprasternal notch. The mass was non-tender, movable, and did not move with tongue protrusion, which helped in differentiating it from other neck masses.
Imaging Findings:
Ultrasound revealed a well-circumscribed, thin-walled mass measuring 40 × 32 × 22 mm, suspicious for a dermoid cyst.
Treatment:
The patient underwent wide local excision of the mass under general anaesthesia.
Histopathological Examination:
The excised mass was confirmed to be a dermoid cyst with inflammation.
